Bonnie and Neil
Patterns designed to stand out

We have always loved Bonnie and Neil for their wonderful way with colour and pattern. Founded in Melbourne in 2010 by Bonnie Ashley and Neil Downie, the brand began when the pair started making furniture and textiles for their own home - pieces that friends soon began asking about too.

Today, Bonnie and Neil is one of Australia’s best-known names in colourful homewares, but original artwork still sits at the heart of every collection. Bonnie begins with painting and drawing, often looking to flowers, gardens and the natural world for inspiration. Her brushstrokes and colour studies are then translated into prints across cushions, table linen, bedding, ceramics and other pieces for the home.

What we particularly love is that their patterns are designed to be lived with. They bring colour and personality into a room without taking themselves too seriously, and mix beautifully with old pieces, handmade objects and other patterns collected over time.
From their beginnings in a tiny Brunswick studio, Bonnie and Neil has grown considerably and collaborated with names including Anthropologie, Qantas and T2, while remaining proudly Australian designed and unmistakably their own.
