Colourful candles with a creative twist
We have always loved objects that are both beautiful and a little unexpected, which is exactly what attracted us to the colourful candles from Belgian design studio Stan Editions.
Founded in 2021 by designer Stan Verstraete, the brand takes something as familiar as a candle and gives it a completely new personality.
Inspired by artists and designers such as Piet Mondrian, Mark Rothko and Ettore Sottsass, Stan created his CANDL STACKS collection using simple geometric shapes and wonderful combinations of colour.
But what makes these candles particularly clever is their modular design. Each candle is made up of individual pieces that can be stacked, swapped and rearranged, allowing you to create your own colour combinations and sculptural forms.
We love that they encourage a little creativity. You can keep things simple with two or three colours or experiment with something much more playful. And when one section burns down, you can replace it and create a new arrangement.
They're a lovely reminder that even the most ordinary everyday objects can be an opportunity to bring a little art, colour and fun into our homes.
